I paint to preserve the feeling that fleeting moments leave behind.

Haijar is a self-taught artist based in Montreal, Canada. Drawn to art from an early age, she later studied fashion design, where she developed an eye for composition, color, and detail before ultimately finding her way back to painting.

Working primarily in oil paint and oil pastel, Haijar is inspired by nature and the fleeting effects of light. Through her paintings, she seeks to preserve not only what she sees, but something of what made the moment worth remembering.

Her greatest hope is that each painting becomes more than something to look at—that every collector finds a personal connection within her work, allowing each piece to take on a meaning of its own. Rather than defining what should be felt, her paintings leave space for each person to experience them in their own way.
